Submarine Radar

Your earned weapon for when the sub is the last ship standing — reveal its quadrant, then fire two shots a turn.

// Briefing

What it is

Submarine Radar is a power-up you earn, not a purchase. It only comes into play when your opponent's submarine is the only ship left — the moment the endgame usually turns into blind guessing.

// Why it matters

The sub is one cell of ocean

Isolated, the submarine can take 10–20+ shots of pure guessing to find. Radar cuts that down: it reveals which quadrant the sub is hiding in, then unlocks two shots per turn for the rest of the match. Earn it by watching one short ad at the start of the game.

// Sequence

How it works

1

Watch an ad before the match

At the start of a game you're asked if you want to watch a short ad to arm radar for that match. Skip it and play normally, or watch it to bank the power-up.

2

Sink every ship but the sub

Radar stays dormant until the submarine is the last enemy ship. Sink it earlier and the radar simply goes unused — no waste, no penalty.

3

The quadrant lights up

The correct quadrant flashes three times, narrowing the hunt from 100 cells to 25 — and you switch to two shots per turn.

4

Close it out

With the search cut to a single quadrant and double the shots, you corner the sub roughly twice as fast. Finish strong.

// Visual

The quadrant reveal

The 10×10 sector is split into four quadrants. Radar lights the one the sub is hiding in — here, the lower-right block glows while the last ship is cornered.

Radar active · sub cornered to one quadrant · 2 shots per turn

// Payoff

Why players love it

Faster wins

Cut the endgame in half. No more endless blind guessing — close it out.

Less frustration

The sub endgame can feel like luck. Radar hands you back control.

A real payoff

The quadrant flash and 2-shot mode feel like flipping on a superpower.

// Access

How to earn it

Watch one ad

Before the match, choose to watch a short video ad to arm radar for that game.

Always free

No in-app purchases. Every player has the same access by watching ads.

Lasts the match

Once armed, radar is available the whole game — it fires when the sub is last.

// Questions

Common questions

Do I have to watch an ad every match?
No — you choose at the start of each game. Skip it and play without radar, or watch it to arm radar for that match.
Can I use radar before the sub is last?
No — radar only activates once the submarine is isolated. That's what keeps it balanced.
Does my opponent know I armed radar?
No — it's your secret. They don't see the quadrant flash or know you're on 2-shot mode.
How does 2-shot mode interact with the three-miss rule?
In radar mode the three-miss rule is replaced by a two-shots-per-turn limit — your turn ends after two shots, hit or miss.
